TREND MICRO SECURITY SUPPORT HOW TO
Someone at Trend knows how to diagnose this but I am stuck waiting for my daily email of guesses although I am not sure what will happen now since I did not switch to Apache. The 3 clients that are online have a much older agent than those that are off-line.
TREND MICRO SECURITY SUPPORT UPDATE
Client appears to update properly but still off-line.

The computer can get to the server, the server can get to the client, the server can remote install a client but that new client does not show up in console. Trend Micro has a proven track record in endpoint and cloud security, and it is the one of the first leading vendors to offer a combination of advanced security solutions for Office 365.' Chris. My guess would be that there is a problem setting on the Trend client agent that does not allow it to get to the server. Simplifies setup with more than 240 pre-built compliance templates, user/group policies, and support for Microsoft Rights Management services. I think Trend is really missing out by not having a strong presence on Spiceworks. Just another "try this so we don't have to figure out what is wrong" solution. Today they asked me to put Trend on Apache in order to eliminate IIS as a source of problems. The VLANs were implemented prior to this and the client's ip scheme and gateway has changed but the clients all showed up with their new IPs in the console so even though this was a major change I don't believe it was the cause but it does still loom as a possibility.Ĭhris75 - I am with you on wishing their support was a little better. I have gone through all of the GPO changes (and all other changes) since a couple days before I have record of these not connecting and there is nothing notable.
Thanks again Thomas - Tracert is good both ways.
I do like their products, and as far as antivirus protection goes, it does what is advertised, I just wish their support was easier to work with. I was like really? It is 2013 and you don't support the two most popular browser alternatives to IE, I laughed. I wish Trend Micro support was a little better, I went round and round with them a few months back about their content filtering and how Chrome users could bypass what was supposed to be blocked, their tech support was worthless and I spent two days going round and round with them telling me it was my fault, finally they admitted to me what I already knew, their content filtering doesn't work well with Chrome or Firefox and they told me I could fill out a feature request. I do find that restarting the server where Trend Micro resides fixes the issue, temporarily tho, but like I said, the clients are still getting updated. This happens to me once and a while, but like someone else mentioned, the client is still getting updated, so its not a priority for me. Has anyone successfully overcome this problem or maybe can share some experience in where I can look to see why this is happening instead of just asking me to blindly changing settings as their support has been asking me to do? I have gone through the connectivity troubleshooting docs Trend offers on their website and connectivity is good, I can telnet from Server to client and back. I have spent the last 2 days going through additional troubleshooting steps to try that their support has sent including recreating the database (The 3 that work did show back up.) I feel like their support is just guessing as none of their "Solutions", as they call them, have brought me any closer and they have asked for very little info beyond what I had supplied initially. These VLANS were added 2 months ago but everything seemed to be working since then. There are 2 VLANS involved, 1 online client is from the VLAN that the server is on and the other 2 from the second VLAN. I am down to 3 clients showing up out of ~100.
